Kenny Chesney -Poets & Pirates Tour

A week ago, Saturday, I went with some of my favorite girls to the Kenny Chesney concert. It was such a fun day out for me! Mark stayed home with all of the kids and survived (to say the least)! He now has a whole new appreciation for what I do every day! It was good for him! He was a little nervous at first but totally pulled it off! Of course he would...he is such a great dad!

The pre-show started at 4pm with Gary Allen, Leann Rimes, and Brooks & Dunn. Kenny didn't come on until 9pm. Apparently this was Kenny's sixth year coming to South Carolina and he has sold out every time at the Colonial Center. This year he sold out in 30 minutes so they moved the concert to Williams-Brice Stadium and sold out to a crowd of 45,000 fans. It was awesome! Go country fans!
All the girls!

Gary Allen singing "Her Man" and "Best I Ever Had."

Next, Leann Rimes performed, wearing a South Carolina Gamecock football jersey/made dress and 4" stiletto heels!

Here's a little taste of Brooks & Dunn singing "My Maria." Loved it! Then my camera died!
(Push Pause of my music so you can hear this!)

Finally, Kenny came on a little after 9pm. He made his grand entrance being raised up on a platform at the end of the catwalk. After singing a few lines, he suddenly stopped...next thing we see is him leaning over, trying to stomp his foot lose. His foot had gotten stuck in the lift and according to the headlines the next day, he "crushed a few bones." The show still went on but it was obvious Kenny was in extreme pain. He was limping, trying to run all over the stage and missed a few lines here and there when the pain got too much. It was hard to enjoy the first half of the show because we were all so worried about him! His staff soon got the picture he was hurt and handed him a cup with a little something in it to ease the pain. By the end, Kenny was certainly loosie-goosie! It was pretty funny!! Uncle Kracker came out to sing a few songs with Kenny and he'd obviously been drinking something too! It was still a sweet concert and hats off to Kenny for putting on a GREAT show despite a broken foot!

Love the blog makeover ;) I'm jealous of your video post--because of my internet uploading problem I can't get videos to upload!

Sounds like quiet the concert! I know Mark is such a great Dad, but it is always nice for the guys to have time to really understand what we go through, especially when you have twins! Congrats to Karlee for rolling over I remember the day Avery learned to do that. It goes by so fast!
